Adventures in puppy sitting

So my friend, Allison, called and asked if we could watch her pup while they went on vacat this weekend. I didn't even hesitate saying yes, because I knew the kids would love it. He's a little beagle that's not even a year old, and he is a true puppy!! Michelle, remember when you had no idea what to do about Spencer being in the terrible two's. Well this is it, puppy sit for someone. Because Odie makes Christian look like an angel. the worst part is, he has the puppy face down, so when you catch him chewing up something he's not suppose to, its hard to get mad at his little face.

Lorin wants a dog soo bad, she loved playing with Odie. First thing in the morning instead of her asking to watch cartoons, she wakes up and asks if she can go play with Odie. The poor little pup was so tuckered, when Mike came home today from drill at 1 Odie was on the porch sleeping.

Christian was a different story. When Odie would jump up on him they were the same height. Christian would freak out. So we had to teach Christian how to get him off. And after the first day and half Christian now loves to run around with him too.

We learned quick what things needed to be picked up and put away or it would turn into shreds. Mike's slippers were spared from the jaws of Odie, but unfortunately Christians gardening bag and Lorins rescuer rope were taken. He also loved to get a hold of the kids socks and take off in the backyard with them.

Kaki was so funny, if Odie even looked at her she would start crying with huge crocodile tears. Tonight while I was making dinner, Kaki was sitting in her high chair and Odie was outside looking in the slider right at Kak, and he gave a little bark. And she started bawling, it was so funny. For the most part he has been a typical Beagle puppy. Not worse than we were expecting. But it has clinched it, I'm not ready for a dog. We'll give it a couple more years, when all the kids are old enough to help out.
When I was putting Lorin to bed tonight, she asked me if "the place Ethan(the owner of the dog) went to was a long drive." And so I told her ya it's by great gma and gpa in AZ. And she said "good, then we can keep Odie for a long time". Allison, I'm sure it's nothing personal, but when you come back she's going to need some visitation.

Oh dear. I hope we'll still be friends when I get back! But, you can't say I didn't warn you. He is definitely a puppy. Sorry about the kid's stuff and the socks.

He really hasnt been bad, he hasnt gotten anything that I'm not willing to part with. I think he just took their socks so they would chase him. So after 5 hail marry's and one hail Jill, then we can be friends.

Dont you just love dogs. To bad every kids dream is to have a dog. Atleast they get to play with one from time to time. I love how your kids are starting to bark and play fetch with shoes. That is so funny. I love what kids come up with.

The problem is Spencer all ready has a dog! it isn't any new treat to have a dog around. . but maybe a cat. I am trying to talk Joe into letting me get one of the Shyposkis(spelling?) himalayan cats. . . I love the blog background. Very cute!

Too funny!! I think everyone needs to dog sit and then they will know if they really want one. I wish i would have done that before I ever said yes, but now I love my dog and Ethan loves her even more.
