"The GREATEST Show on Earth"

We decided to take the kids to the circus this year. We figure they're about the age that they will start enjoying it. So we set it up to go with some friends in Mikes military unit and had this great evening planned to spend as a family. Then a couple of weeks ago Mike starts planning the combined YM/YW activity(because the ym are in charge this month) which is on the same night as the circus. But, he figures "it's ok I'll get it going and then let my counselors take over." Ya it didn't happen. So we told Lorin she could take a friend and we went without Dad :(
It ended up to be so much fun. If you are still thinking about going, I would GO. The kids loved it. And if you go early, we went an hour early, you can go down to the floor and meet the performers and they do little shows. They brought out an elephant and some Llamas, and goats. We bought a program and took it around to the performers and they signed it for the kids. The show itself was fantastic too. Lorin was laughing hysterically at the clowns. She loved them.

I'm not to sure what Emma's looking at. I know what Christian's eyeing. There was the cutest clown that was kinda dressed like Pinocchio and Christian was at awe when we saw him. I took a picture of Christian with him, but it turned out real bad.

The kids had a little to much exposure of the clowns, but the end of the night they were dressing and acting like them. I guess that's normal for Christian.

These guys were so cool, there was a couple of them and they were cool to watch from far. But when you got close they were kinda scary. Couldn't speak a lick of English either.

This was Lorins favorite clown. She loved his hair and actually asked if I would let her have green hair. I told her maybe for Halloween. He was really nice and one of the few we could actually talk to.

It's not a circus without elephants. And they were Christians favorite part. He would point and say Elef'nt. And he laughed forever when they were rolling around. And the end when they were walking off the stage the littlest one was at the end and he started skipping, it was so cute.

And of course Lorins favorite part, the butterfly lady on the back of the elephant. That is now what she wants to be when she grows up.
The funniest part was all the people we ran into there, I saw a couple of old friends that I worked with at GE years and years ago. And our pediatrician was there. He came up to us to say Hi right before I was going to beat Christian for running off and almost getting lost. Lucky Christian. JK

Another mile stone

Lorin has passed another mile stone in her, thus far, short life. She can now ride her bike without her training wheels. I'm so proud of her. She pretty much did it on her own, but she's really been ready for a while. We told her that if she learns to ride her bike without her training wheels by the end of this year, then we'll get her a bigger one next spring. So she did, I didn't even have to hold her up, she just got on her bike pushed off and started pedaling. She fell down once and had a good cry, but then she got back on her bike and took off. She is still working on turning and gets a little nervous when she gets to close to something. I get a little nervous when she gets to close to the neighbors car, but she does really good. Mike was at work with she acccomplished this great feat, so I recorded it on my cell phone and sent him the video. So this is this is a little grainy because its from my cell phone.

Our, umm, soccer star?

Lorin had her first soccer game last night. They put her in goal for the first 15 mins of the game. Her team kept the ball on the other side of the field mostly so she was pretty bored. In the 15 mins, she only had to touch the ball three times to keep the ball out of the goal. So she practiced her cartwheels, hand stands, smiles, dance moves. Once she even ran over to where we were sitting on the sidelines for a drink. It ended up being a tie game, 0-0, we have a great offense so the ball was in their half most of the game. They just had a really good goalie for only being 5-7 years old. They have 6 games left and hopefully it stays warm!!

Our Graduating-Graduate

On Friday night the BYU Graduate Student Society threw a BBQ for all graduating graduates. Mike, being one of those, we thought: free food, games for the kids, and some cool music, why not? So we took the drive down to Provo. Mike was interested to know what $3000.00 a semester pays for, well it pays for sloppy Joe's, corn, potato salad and a cookie. But to their credit the sloppy Joe mix was soooo good. It makes my mouth water to think about it. And the potato salad was the real stuff, not walmart foux potato salad.

I don't remember if this was Lorin being a dog or a horse. It use to always be a horse, but since we've had Odie around she's been barking a lot lately.

We didn't take a ball, so Christian improvised and took his shoes off and threw them and then went a got them and then would throw them again and then go and get them. I really think Odie is doing strange things to my kids.

When Christian wasn't playing catch with his shoes, he was trying to roll up-hill. Somebody needs to tell him the hill goes the other way!!

We don't really worry about Lorin, she seems to make friends where ever we go. We just have to watch her and make sure they're not scary friends.(she doesn't know the difference yet, we are working on it tho)

The entertainment was really good. I'll have to ask Mike what their name was again. They were raffling off some of their cd's, and dang it we didn't get one. I'll have to see if they have anything on you tube. It ended up being a really fun night. BYU sure knows how to throw a party for those graduating graduates.

Adventures in puppy sitting

So my friend, Allison, called and asked if we could watch her pup while they went on vacat this weekend. I didn't even hesitate saying yes, because I knew the kids would love it. He's a little beagle that's not even a year old, and he is a true puppy!! Michelle, remember when you had no idea what to do about Spencer being in the terrible two's. Well this is it, puppy sit for someone. Because Odie makes Christian look like an angel. the worst part is, he has the puppy face down, so when you catch him chewing up something he's not suppose to, its hard to get mad at his little face.

Lorin wants a dog soo bad, she loved playing with Odie. First thing in the morning instead of her asking to watch cartoons, she wakes up and asks if she can go play with Odie. The poor little pup was so tuckered, when Mike came home today from drill at 1 Odie was on the porch sleeping.

Christian was a different story. When Odie would jump up on him they were the same height. Christian would freak out. So we had to teach Christian how to get him off. And after the first day and half Christian now loves to run around with him too.

We learned quick what things needed to be picked up and put away or it would turn into shreds. Mike's slippers were spared from the jaws of Odie, but unfortunately Christians gardening bag and Lorins rescuer rope were taken. He also loved to get a hold of the kids socks and take off in the backyard with them.

Kaki was so funny, if Odie even looked at her she would start crying with huge crocodile tears. Tonight while I was making dinner, Kaki was sitting in her high chair and Odie was outside looking in the slider right at Kak, and he gave a little bark. And she started bawling, it was so funny. For the most part he has been a typical Beagle puppy. Not worse than we were expecting. But it has clinched it, I'm not ready for a dog. We'll give it a couple more years, when all the kids are old enough to help out.
When I was putting Lorin to bed tonight, she asked me if "the place Ethan(the owner of the dog) went to was a long drive." And so I told her ya it's by great gma and gpa in AZ. And she said "good, then we can keep Odie for a long time". Allison, I'm sure it's nothing personal, but when you come back she's going to need some visitation.

Shh, dont tell the insurance

I think I've done pretty good. We've had the Pilot ALMOST 3 years, and I just had my first fender bender. With the Corolla I had been in only 2 accidents and they were both small, but this is the smallest by far!! It was so small I didn't even know I hit anything. Till Mike came home and said I parked to close to Lorin's Barbie jeep. So he backs the car out a little and this is what we find. SUCKER!!!

I cant even believe I hit my daughters plastic barbie jeep and it was unharmed but it left this beautiful dent in our bumper. What the heck is that. Good thing the bumper is only plastic so Mike thinks it will just pop right out. And good thing one of our friends owns their own dent removal business, so he's going to come and fix it tomorrow. I don't think I'll ever hear the end of this one from Mike. I guess I deserve it tho.

"Keeping It Real"

Thanks Kristi so much for tagging me, there's nothing more I want to do than show the whole blog nation my toilet!! JK
The idea is to take pictures, according to the instructions, of how things are now. Not after you clean, put on make up or wash the dishes. It's how it is now. So I got this awhile ago, but life has been so crazy I haven't been able to pick up my camera lately. So this morning was the best opportunity. One point, we've made it a rule in our house that no play or computer time, till your dressed, your beds made, your teeth are brushed and your hair is done. This is the only way I can get Lorin ready for school without having to compete with the TV, or computer, or VSmile. So I have to follow the rules too before I could sit down at my computer. So here it goes

For any of you who don't know, this is me. Hair barely done, makeup-blah. And my veg clothes. Today is very much a veg day. My butt got worked last night at volleyball, so laundry will be really lucky if it gets done today.

This would be my toilet, not much action goes on in this room, beside the norm(hence the air freshener :). I didn't dare show you the kids toilet. Only death goes there, even if I cleaned it once a day(which Definitely wouldn't be happening today) with the things christian puts down it, still only death would go there.

I love my red bed spread. There's something about dark wood and red that I just love. Lorin and I have this deal, I'll smooth out her bedspread if she puts all her pillows and millions of dolls on it. Then after I make my bed she puts all my pillows on it. So it doesn't look beautiful, but at least it gets done.

I've tried so many times to organize my closet, it just doesn't stay that way. Mike's got racks all to himself and he wont let me touch them or invade them.

Lorin finally got her "computer time" her hair is going to need another inspection from me, but being that this is a veg day, I'll let her slide a little bit. It's so nice that she can play all her barbie stuff on her computer, or else I would never get to blogging.

Who ever said boys were easier, was so wrong!! All it took was for me to go down stairs for two minutes to take pictures, for Christian to find something else to get into. This is our day: Me- It's been 2 mins and I haven't heard Christian, what could he be getting into. I then hear Christian coming in the room. Christian- Mom I need help washing my hands. Here he comes walking in with chocolate all over his face, all over his hands. Chocolate hand prints on the wall all the way up the stairway. Chocolate smudges on the carpet at the top of the stairs where the wall was no longer, so he used the top step to get up. Chocolate on the floor in the kitchen. And finally a chocolat-ified candy bar wrapper on the top of the trash can. I guess I should be happy he threw the wrapper away and that he was wanting to wash his hands.

Ohh my Kaki, she is such a good baby. We had a rough patch a few days ago when she was sick. But she is so good. She just crawls around exploring, nothing to scary yet. Then gets tired and I put her in bed and she falls asleep. She is such a happy baby and definitely a joy to have in our family.

My sink at its best, at the end of the day multiply this by 5. Christian has to have a sippy cup at breakfast, a sippy cup at lunch and a sippy cup at dinner. Then when he's done with each of them he throws them in the sink and says new cup. Lorin has to have a different silverware for each different thing she's eating. So for dinner if we have meatballs, and rice with salad and pudding for dessert. She has to have a fork for her meatballs, a spoon for her rice, another fork for her salad, and a baby spoon for her pudding. So we go through dishes like water at our house.

Our fridge speaks for itself, we like food. What can I say.

We keep any and all chemicals in our laundry room with the door locked, or else we would be calling poison control on a daily basis, with Christian. We've only had to do it a couple times so far and it turned out he lived through both of those times.

I don't really have a favorite pair of shoes. My piggy's like freedom. So barefoot is my favorite. Now going out somewhere, heck no, I'll just throw on what ever is by the door. I will only sacrifice so much pain for beauty and Mike always complains whenever I get a new pair.
I would also have Mike's handsome mug on here, but he leaves for work at 6am and I am in the middle of counting ZZZZ's at that time.

So I enormously tag Barb, I really want to see what the place looks like after I got you hooked on Twilight this last week. :) And all the Villa ladies, let's see what ya got!!
