Penelope was real cute. I rented this one because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Reese Witherspoon. And I really like Christina Ricci and James McAvoy is pretty darn hot(love him in Becoming Jane, that is definitely buy worthy) For starters, there is a great Twilight preview on it. And I mean great! But anyway, back to Penelope. It was cute. The story line was cute. The way it was done reminded me of Mulan Rouge, because it was real quirky, in a good way. I think Christian Ricci did a good job, and Reese Witherspoon was really good. Not a normal role for Reese, but she comes in more towards the end. The story line started kind of slow, but when it picked up it was really cute. This movie I would suggest watching once, it isn't on my buy list thou.
HMMM, this one on so many levels was just wrong. I have to tell you a little about it for you to know why I think it was so wrong. It starts out about a girl(Abigail Breslin, way cute girl) at school and they just had a class on sex ed. Well come on, she's like 11. Why are they giving those classes to 11 year olds. So she goes home to her dad(who is going through a divorce) and is curious about sex and male organs and accident children. That is so disturbing. To keep hearing an 11 year old talk about sex. Maybe because I don't have an 11 year old, maybe that's really how they are. Don't know. So then she asks him to tell her his story about his dating different women. So he does, and it flashes back and that's what the story is about. His different girl friends. Then he gets to the one that is Abigails mom and the movies comes back to current time. So after his divorce is final his daughter is encouraging him to go back to one of the ex girlfriends in the story. So he does. Well it just didn't leave me with that happy feel good feeling at the end. I know not all movies are suppose to but I usually like the ones that do and am not to fond of the ones that don't. Then it goes back to, would you tell your 11 year old daughter all the women you slept with before you dated her mom. HMMM I don't think I would, but again I don't have an 11 so I don't know for sure. So I don't think it was really rent worthy. It was lucky I didn't turn if off in the middle of it. I was just really hoping he would end up with his wife. I know stupid thing to hope for.
YAAA, so this movie had a really good story line. It was so cool to think about all the things you could do if you could jump from place to place. Christian Hayden is in it, and who didn't love him in Star Wars. And the lady is Rachel Bilsen and she is way cute. But they were the only cute parts about the movie. Who ever directed this, did such a part job putting it together. Christian Hayden could have found a better way to make his money then robbing a bank. That was pretty lame and predictable. And then they throw in this cult leader who's job is to hunt down "Jumpers" and kill them. They could have taken it to so many better places but they didn't. So it was kinda lame. I'll watch it once but that's about it.
This one reminded me to much of Ground Hog Day. After 30 mins we kept seeing the same scene over and over and over. It's about a Secret Service Agent, Denis Quiad, who was really shaky and jumpy because he had taken a bullet for the president last year. But he was back on president duty and they are in Spain for a meeting and his job is to protect the president. Well there is an assassination attempt and then a kidnapping attempt of the president. But it shows the same scene over and over and over again from the view points of different characters they keep introducing. So it was a lot like Ground Hogs day. This one we almost did turn off because it was so monotonous.
This movie was pretty good. It is based on a true story of King Henry the 8th. I probably learned about him in world history years ago in high school, but I dont remember anything about him. So it was really interesting. Again a little disturbing, all the concubines he had, but that's how life really was back then. I really like Scarlett Johansson and I thought she did a really good job. And I really like Natalie Portman and she also did a really good job. The extra features on this were really interesting to learn more about King Henry the 8th and the fact that he did father the children of two sisters. And he had his first wife beheaded. And the fact that it is because of the character Natalie Portman plays that England broke off from the Catholic Church and started their own Church of England. So this movie I would recommend watching.
Well, this movie was really really slow. I'm trying to think if there was anything good about it. It did leave me with that happy feel good feeling at the end. But it was just really slow. Hard to keep up with too, at some times. I like Kate Bosworth, she's always cute. But really it was just OK.
This movie was cute, it reminded me of Bridge To Teribithia, with all it's mystical creatures. It has Freddie Highmore, the kid from Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. He did a Parent Trap thing, where he played twins, he did a good job. I would watch this one again. I think it was to scary for Lorin so I wouldn't let her watch it. But it was still good.
K, I saved the best for last. This movie was sooo cute. If you can't tell by now, I love watching movies with actors/actresses that I know and like. A movie can be killed by the actor in it. Like, Tom Cruise, lately he just gets on my nerves. So I wont watch anything he has done. Well I wont pay money to watch it. I'm not a big fan of Hilary Swank. I know a lot of people thinks she's great, but she just annoys me. So I haven't rented PS I Love You. I kinda want to tho, because I love Gerard Butler. Anyway, Nims Island has a great cast. Abigail Brislin, she is such a cute and really good actress. She is so good for her age, and in this movie she did a little bit of a "Cast Away" thing where she had to hold her own for a while and she did really good. I also Love Jodie Foster, she can do no wrong in my book. She has always been one of my favorites. And it has Gerard Butler after Phantom of the Operah he won a huge spot in my favorites book. Lorin loves this movie too, I cant tell you how many times she's seen it and she now walks around with her Dora backpack, a jump rope, and her keilidascope saying she's an adventurer like Nim. This movie is absolutely buy worthy. When we have to take it back to Blockbuster we'll be buying it from Walmart!! So this is what I've been filling my evenings with the last couple weeks. You've probably seen these already when they were in theatres. But us Ceser's like to wait till they come out on DVD so we can relax at home while the kids are upstairs sleeping. I have no problems with diffences in points of views. So feel free to leave you're own oppinion if you thought differently. :)
