She's not a baby anymore :(

What once was little, now is big! So big we sent her off to Kindergarten today. I am so proud of myself I didn't cry, but it was sad when I had to leave her in her classroom sitting on the rug like such a big girl. I was for-warned today while I was doing her hair, Lorin told me "Mother dont even cry, you're not a cry baby" I didnt think she was suppose to get like that till at least 3rd or 4th grade. Our day started at quarter to 7AM. Even tho Lorin is in afternoon kindergarten she had to get up and get dressed as fast as possible. That was not what I had in mind when I told Mike we had to get Lorin on a continuous schedule for school. So we are not making a habit of that.

We met Lorins friend at the school and we were so early that noone else was there. Not even the teacher. So after taking a million pictures of the kids, the family, the girls, Lorin in front of her playground, Lorin in front of her classroom, Lorin in front of the office, Lorin in front of the school(you get it). It was finally time for her to wait in line with her class and go inside. She was so excited she ran inside and didnt even say goodbye. we had to follow her in and get a hug and kiss. Then more pictures of her in her classroom and then I let her be. We left her sitting on the colorful rug with her class and her teaching reading them books.

But of course the pictures were not over. I'm jumping for joy because she gets to ride the bus home from school everyday. There is only one bus at our school and it has only one stop and that is a couple houses away from ours. So Lorin and her friend Avi get to ride home together. So of course being the nerdy stalker moms that we are, we had to meet them at the bus stop and take pictures of them coming off the bus. Lorin was so mad at me because she wanted to be able to walk home all by herself.

When she got home she had everything to give me and for me to sign. Her school doesnt mess around. On the first day, they started fundraisers, took their school pictures and had back to school night.

What a cute girl! Kindergarten is so much fun. And good job not crying. You've read my blog, I was good till the 4th grade for Kowhai. Gotta love the notes that come home on the first day. You have to put aside plenty of time for mom homework!
