Smores and Shores

Last weekend we had our ward camp out at Cherry Hill. We've never been there before so we were totally unaware of what to expect. When you think of camping, you think up in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere. When you think of a water park you think in the valley, where it's nice and hot and busy. It was great camping, we set up tents on the green grass, there were bathrooms with showers only 50 feet away. The only bummer, no fire pits allowed. So one of our friends brought their fire tire and we hooked it up to propane for the kids to have smore's. The ward provided the dinner, which was really good and we were on our own for breakfast. So what do you do when you're not out in the middle of nowhere and there aren't fire pits for cooking? You go to IHOP, of course. It was a yummy breakfast, they did such a good job.

After we packed up all the tents and air mattresses, we headed over to the water park. It was so much fun. Christian is usually not too fond of water, but he loved it here. It was so funny to watch a 16 or 17 year old lifeguard chastise Christian for walking up the slides the wrong way (Christian would slide down and then walk up again and every time the lifeguard would tell him not to walk up the slides and so Christian would just do it again). We know he is going to be our rebellious one. And we are so in for it. Lorin loved the lazy pool. It was about 3 feet deep and she loved running in it because you went super fast. Kaki's favorite part was sitting on the shallow end of the kiddie pool and watching Christian army crawl through the water.
