Last week Lorin turned 6 years old. I know I'm shocked too. We talked about what kind of party she wanted this year. Her first choice was to go with her friends to Disneyland. Umm that wasn't going to happen. Her next choice was to go to the beach. Again, yeah right. The next best thing to the beach is a pool. So I made a reservation at a rec center not to far away for a party room and with the room we would have access to the pools, the rock wall, the jungle gym and a play area. Well 2 days before the party I got a call from the rec center saying they made a big mistake and there was a swim meet the same time as Lorin's party so we wouldn't be able to have access to the pool. They offered to bring in a face painter in stead, but come on this was a POOL party. We had to do some last minute rearranging and was lucky enough to get a party room at another rec center. But all it had was a way fun pool. Owell good enough.
So we rounded up all Lorin's friends and took them to PARTAY!! We swam for about 45 mins then pulled them out to eat. But no-one wanted to eat, they just wanted to swim. Then we did cake and presents and back to the pool. Another hour and a half later and we still couldn't get them out of the pool. They were having so much fun. Poor Mike, we had to have an adult in the water with them at all time, and he was it. They climbed all over him, jumped all over him, clung to him and wouldn't let go while they were in the lazy pool.
The best parts: not having to set up, the rec center provided everything. Pizza, soda, decorations, party bags, a Bday shirt for Lorin and even a cake if you wanted. And not having to clean up after. They came in and did it all for us. Not having to plan a bunch of games. All they needed was the pool. Lorin had a lot of fun too, she keeps talking about it. Now for Buddy's Bday in a month.

That looks like such a fun place - I know Brayden had a blast! I'll have to find out from you where that was and the other one you were going to go to - Mike and I are still clueless as to what is around here and are always looking for new fun places to take the kids! :)
We did Alyssa's party last year at the rec center, and I totally agree! What could be better than having a party where all you do is show up and enjoy. I am thinking more of our parties need to be this way. Happy Birthday to Lorin!
Happy Birthday Lorin! We've done the rec center too. It's the best!
How fun! My sister did a swim party at a rec center for her son and it was awesome. I think I am going to do that in the future for parties. I cannot believe she is 6time flies by.
Looks like the Girlies had a BLAST!!
Avi has mentioned every day that she DIDN'T get to go to Lorin's Party.
She now just looked at all the picts with me....And has become pretty TICKED off!!
She feels like she missed out BIG time....And I'm sure she did!
She'll get over it...Hopefully!
Happy Birthday Lorin. Looks it was blast! And sounds like a good place to have a party.
Looks like a fun pool party. I can't believe she is six. That is crazy. Time flies. Well I hope all is well and I am glad she had a good birthday.
