This week was better yet harder at the same time. The feeling that we're visiting grandma and grandpa's house wore off at the beginning of the week and it turned into the true "adjusting" period. Trying to get a new schedule was a little rough on everyone and I knew by midweek Christian needed a preschool and ASAP. Lorin has been coming home with PAGES of homework that takes at least an hour. Katherine spent most of the time just following me around the house and crying. She didn't want anything to do with grandma or Uncle Paul who normally she loves them both.
On Labor day we had a big family get together here. The kids had a great time with their cousins that they don't get to see too much.

And at the end of the week my mom took a couple days off work. One day I was able to run errands without the kids and the other day we went to the Long beach Aquarium. Such a fun place to go. It's been 20 years since I've been there and it's changed so much.

There was this Sea Lion the kids all loved. He was such a playful little guy. He stood upside down on this rock and would follow the kids when they walked back and forth. So Lorin put her hand up to the glass and the little guy started following her hand with his nose. We were there for 15 minutes. the kids didn't want to leave him.

Lorin and Christian loved it all,
Kaki not to much she walked around with her hands in her pockets and stayed as far away from the exhibits as she could. She is such a timid little girl. She is so afraid of dogs, cats, everything. Even when they are smaller then her. Finally by the end I was able to get her to put her fingers out to pet the sting rays with me.

It's definitely a step up from the aquarium we took the kids to in Sandy. There was a shark exhibit with some pretty freaky sharks. They had a saw tooth shark and that was amazing. The scarriest for me were the Giant Spider Crabs. K I already am scared to death of spiders, but make them huge, put them in water and then give them bellys that open and close and it freakin scares the heck out of me!! They were seriously so big!

I'm not sure if you can tell by this picture but this guy was grooming his stomach. He had a flap that would open up and it was just gross, I can't tell you anymore. WIERD!!

The day was a lot of fun, till about after lunch. Christian started getting really whiny and clingy. Now looking back I should have known he was getting sick. By the time we got home he had a fever. Lorin got a fever right before bed time too. So we went to bed early that night. Good thing because at midnight they both woke up throwing up. It's like they tagg teamed me. That was the end of sleep for the night. By the next day they were doing much better.
Today was Christians first day of preschool. I was so excited for him to go and he was actually really excited too. He took his backpack and got all dressed up. After we took Lorin to school then we went over to his preschool and dropped him off. Now Christian, he is not a picture taker. He hates having his picture taken. So he was in no way letting me get a picture of him. Even to send to Daddy! Maybe tomorrow. I really thought I would have no problem with him going, but it was really hard driving away. But once he was gone then I left Kaki with my little brother and went off to the gym. Christian ended up having a great day. He met a friend and remembered his name. Played nice with all the kids and is excited to go back tomorrow.
We finally got both ends of the web cams set up and had our first chat with Mike online. The kids loved it. Christian kept asking if daddy was at Grandma's house and Kaki wouldn't stop kissing and hugging the monitor of my computer.

Tell little Katherine, she is a little young to be making love to a monitor.
Web cams are great. I bet the kids really love it. Sorry about the hard week, sick kids and still adjusting. I hope it gets better soon.
