Easter
On a sunday drive along the Patomac we found a beach that was covered in shells.

One of the nicest things about our "new" life is that our evenings and weekends are OURS. Mike isn't running after work to school or to mutual. No meetings during the week or on the weekend. It leaves us lots of family time. So one of our free days we headed to DC. Lorin has been learning about George Washington and Abe Lincoln lately. So we went to the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. We took a lunch and had a picnic at one of the parks.
Of course it would be my daughter in the tree, who cares about the white house down the street.
Lorin has renamed the Washington Monument to the Pencil building.
And she told us all there is to know about Honest Abe.
One of our first trips there was to the US Marines Museum. Army men, guns, totally something Christian loves!

After a drive to UT to send our car off with the mobile shippers and to meet the movers we were suppose to keep it brief and then fly to VA. Unfortunately there were massive snow storms that the East coast had never seen so we were delayed for an extra week in UT. We finally made it to VA. Our car actually made it to VA 4 days before we did.
Our temporary apartment was furnished. All we brought was our suitcases. The weather was still cold, and snow was everywhere. So we played a lot of Wii and made many trips to the library.
Lorin started her her 3rd first day of 1st grade. Her school is great and her teacher is the best 1st grade teacher there.
Mike got his buesty car. There was an ongoing joke with his graduating class on who would get the worst car. While his is pretty bad there was worse. The kids love the lights and the sirens. One of the first couple days Mike had it we were walking out to the car and he put on the loud speaker and started talking to Christian. At first he freaked out. Then he went over and kicked the tire. Now he constantly asks to go out and have daddy's car talk to him.
Jan 26th we all jumped for joy!!
For one of the long weekends Mike surprised the kids and flew out. They thought we were going to LA to pick something up when daddy got in the car they were so excited. We spent the day at Santa Monica Pier.
My little bro turned the big 20 and of course we had to celebrate.
Christmas morning came early, but was nice to be with family.
On Dec 23 I picked Mike up from the airport for Christmas, which happened to be our 10 year anniversary. He had a surprised me by heading to the LA Temple to see the Christmas lights. There was not really anyone there so Mike backed in opened up the back of the Pilot and popped in a CD. I had no idea what he had in mind. It ended up being a CD he made that was pretty much a brief sound track to the last 10 years. I love my hubby!
