Californ-i-a

After the most awesome trip ever we headed back to Cali and we're able to spend another week there hanging out with our family and friends. We planned a beach trip on Saturday and invited what ever friends could come for an old fashion Bonn fire. Growing up we use to go the beach every summer and at the end of the day roast hot dogs and marshmallows at the pits at the beach. When we've ever taken our kids to the beach we've never stayed long enough to do this with them and so I thought this time we have to.

We packed dinner and snacks and towels and headed down after lunch. Two of my brothers, and both my nieces went with us. After a longer then normal drive down there we finally got there and the kids of course headed strait for the water. Well after going to Hawaii, California beaches are not that appealing. They smell and the water is cold and dirty. But the kids didn't care. One of our friends went early in the morning to reserve the pit for us. Thank goodness cause man was this beach crowded!!

Lorin and the girls got to drive in Uncle Spencer's way cool convertible. Welcome to California traffic. On of the things we DONT miss.
Of course the girls dropped their stuff and ran for the water. We grow fishes in our family. They love water. Lorin loves her cousins too. When we're visiting them I will go hours without even seeing her. She is just off with them doing whatever they are make believing at the time. And they love making sand castles
Christian got dunked by Uncle Paul. And he's smiling about it. See nothing but fishes.
Mikes BF Dave and his wife and Dave's brother Devin and his wife met us there too. And just like Lorin, Mike disappeared. Go figure.
Awesome sunset!
Kaki was trying to feed this little doggy her Cheetos. It was the cutest thing
Mike and Christian, the spin and get sick game. This is the spin.
This is the get sick..
When Lorin surfaced she had stories of sea weed and sand and waves. I don't even really know what she was saying. It was all kinda slurred
Dave and his wife Katie and their little baby girl Savannah. And Devin and his pregger wife.
Danny and his wife LeAnn and their daughter Cat. Danny saved the pit for us. We owed him so big. He got there at 6 am and by 8 am all the pits were gone.
After In-N-Out run. YUMMMY
But the kids were out, to bad. No In-N-Out for them.
On Sunday after church Mike's mom's family had a little throw together family reunion. It's been 15+ years since Mike's seen a lot of the family on that side of the family. And because there's so many of them not all of them could make it. His mom has 18 brothers and sisters. Not all of them are alive and not all of them live in the states. These are pretty much the ones that do live in So Cal.

With all those aunts and uncles you can imagine all the cousins. This is only a handful of the guys.
And the grand kids that were there.

This trip to Cali was the hardest trip for me to leave So Cal. I've forgotten how much I miss a lot of things. I'm real glad it's not that far of a drive or flight so we can visit often. Sorry to all the friends we missed. Not to worry, we'll be back and for much longer next time :)
